ETFE
Ethylene-Tetrafluoroethylene Sheet
ETFE (Ethylene Tetraflouroethylene) is a premium fluoropolymer that offers an excellent balance of properties. ETFE is preferred for applications or environments where extraordinary chemical inertness, permeation resistance, low surface energy, and/or mechanical toughness is required. It is a “neat polymer” that does rewrite the use of additives to make thermoplastically processible. As a result, ETFE is consider a “wetted parts” suitable polymer for semicon end-use.
Sheets made from ETFE are inert to 0-14pH chemicals, solvents, and oxidizers. The recommended upper service temperature is 155°C (311°F); useful properties are retained at cryogenic ranges. It boasts excellent dielectric properties, is inherently flame resistant, and emits low smoke. Its non-stick surface is extremely resistant to chemical staining. It also has outstanding impact strength, and resists cut-through, abrasion, and environmental stress cracking.
